Petroleum Product Trucking

INTRODUCTION

The dominant mode of moving and distribution of petroleum products in Nigeria is the ROAD MODE. This is largely due to the locations and distribution network of petroleum depots on land areas across the country, road network design and the location of retail outlets along such corridors.

The movements and distribution of petroleum products: PMS, AGO, DPK, LPFO, etc, used by different capacities of automobiles and industrial machines is by trucks and will remain so for long time to come as there appears not to be in contemplation a policy agenda that would lead to change.

Effective distribution of petroleum products to designated retail outlets, industrial, commercial and residential areas across the country is critical to the functioning of the economy, andany disruption in the supply chain of petroleum products would lead to serious dislocations of all economic activities.

The challenges that confront the distribution chain are traceable to strong infractions within the supply chain caused essentially by deliberate violation of operating guidelines for unmerited gains, product diversion, short-landing, adulteration, unworthy trucks, all manners of mismanagement by ignorance and intentions.  The above challenges can be largely solved through our focused training programmes.
